William "Bill" Lee Couffer, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, left this world on July 10, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 68. Born on November 7, 1956, in the charming town of Roswell, Bill lived a life characterized by a deep love for family and an unwavering commitment to service.
As a Tech Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Bill served his country with honor and distinction. His military service shaped him, fostering a sense of duty and an innate desire to help others. This passion translated seamlessly into his everyday life; whether fixing things around the house or lending a hand to a neighbor in need, Bill’s gentle and approachable nature made him a beacon of support in his community. His love for God was also shown in his attendance at New Beginnings Church, where he worshipped with his wife.
He was not only a handyman; he was a man with a heart full of compassion. Bill built bridges with those around him, always willing to share a story or a laugh, finding joy in the simplest of moments. He had a special bond with his beloved dog, Bear, who accompanied him on countless walks and shared in those tender, quiet moments of companionship that spoke volumes about his capacity for loyalty and love.
Bill is survived by his wife, Tina, whose steadfast partnership filled his life with warmth and joy. Together, they nurtured a family that embodies the values Bill cherished most. He leaves behind his sons, Josh and John, who carry forward his legacy in their own lives, along with their wives, Samantha and Helen, who brought further joy and strength to the Couffer family.
Grandfather to an adoring group of grandchildren, Robby, Sadie, Santiago, Rachel, Christopher, and Joshua, Bill’s influence is a precious gift imprinted in their hearts. He adored them fiercely, delighting in their laughter and taking pride in their pursuits, instilling in them the importance of kindness and resilience.
Bill's memory is one that will be cherished by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Fred, mother, Katie, brother, Freddie, and sisters Kathy and Mary, all of whom would surely take comfort in his radiant spirit reuniting with theirs.
In the tapestry of life, Bill's threads were woven through acts of service, love, and a firm belief in community. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived, illuminated by generosity, laughter, and an ever-present spirit of helping hands. Bill will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will resonate for generations to come.
