Valerio “Val” Gallegos was born on May 2, 1921 in San Jose, NM. He passed peacefully in Albuquerque, NM Sunday August 27, 2017 at age 96. He is preceded in death by his wife Petra, son’s Richard and Gilbert with grandson Charlie Gallegos. He is survived by his daughter Rosemary Gallegos Chavez and husband Paul Chavez, daughters Leanna, Valerie, and Rebecca, grandson Ruben and wife Lorraine Gallegos, children Orland, Richard and Jessica, granddaughter Loretta and husband Peter Romero. He had 12 Great-grandchildren to include Sage, Charlie, Issac, Ethan, Jacob, Mila, and Cain. Valerio also had 6 great-great grandchildren, Orlando Jr, Santiago, Brianna, Wynona, Jordan, and baby girl. Valerio was a member of the 407 Local Carpenters Union for 58 years and lived a long happy life. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday August 31, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. SW with a Mass being celebrated on Friday September 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Church on 3424 4th St NW. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
