Ruth Ellen Simms, 64, died August 29,2018 at University Hospital in Albuquerque surrounded by family and friends. Ruth was born June 11, 1954 in Lincolnshire, England to Jesse and Marian Simms. She is predeceased by her father. Ruth is survived by her mother Marian, daughter Katy Lynn Lee, brother David Louis Simms, former husband Davis Lee, and many cousins, cousins spouses, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Ruth earned her bachelors degree from UNM in Albuquerque and her masters from the University of Texas at Austin.

She served as Comptroller at the Lannan Foundation of Santa Fe for more than 20 years. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe and later of Immanuel Presbyterian in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to either church.

Ruth would be the first to thank the Lannan Foundation for unwavering support, to thank the Mayo Clinics, and for kindness above the call of duty, to thank the staff of University Hospital and the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 2pm at Immanuel Presbyterian in Albuquerque, 114 Carlisle Blvd SE.
