Rudolph Corona

Rudolph (Rudy) Corona Jr., age 87 died peacefully at home on Friday, April 26th, 2019, surrounded by family. He was born to parents Rudolph Corona Sr. and Elvira Perez, on February 13, 1932 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Rudy graduated from Fort Morgan High School as a National Honor Society member in 1950 and received a degree in Education (Summa Cum Laude) from St. Joseph’s College in Albuquerque. He was a beloved teacher of mathematics with the Albuquerque Public School system for 35 years.

He married Eloisa Quintana, in 1964, who survives him. Rudy is also survived by daughters Patricia Corona and husband Mike Wheeler, Ramona Corona, and his son Robert Corona, as well as a proud grandfather to grandchildren Aiden Corona, Carter Corona, step-grandchildren Vincent Wheeler and wife Janell, Victor Wheeler and wife Dana and step-great-grandchildren Tyler, Casey, Cathryne, Kaelyn, and Karileigh.

Rudy was known for his love of crossword puzzles and sudoku. He was a true builder of things and loved making furniture and home projects which he usually completed on his own time frame.

A Rosary and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. with a brief reception following at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, on the corner of 8th and Iron. He will be interred with military honors due to him for his years of service with United States Air Force during the Korean War.
