After a short battle with cancer, Roy left this earth on May 16, 2018. Blessed with 81 years, he used them to enrich the lives of his family, friends and neighbors. Roy could always be counted on for solid advice, a helping hand and a good joke. He loved playing music, spending time at the lake, growing delicious tomatoes and cutting lots and lots of wood! Roy was a well loved man and will be sorely missed

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer R Howard and Bessie Hickson; long time love, Joan Rhoades and step daughter, Faith Doty.

Roy is survived by children, Melissa Clark and husband, David, Martha Howard and husband, Les; step children, Kathy Rhoades, Brenda Romero and husband, Tim, Dawn Pasternacki and husband, Jacque, Julie Deer and husband, Andy; sister, Margaret Darner; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, May 20, 2018, 4:00 pm, at 3618 Sunstar Blvd, Albuquerque, NM. Everyone will bring their instruments and voices, a dish to share and a lawn chair! We will celebrate Roy's homegoing just the way he wanted, with good food, good music and good memories.
