Refugio “Cuco” Fierro Arreola was born to Alfonso and Onesima Fierro in Durango, Mexico. In the 1980’s he moved to Albuquerque and started working; he then got married and had a family.
Cuco was a very hard worker, and he prided himself in helping extended family and providing for his children. He made a lot of friends in his lifetime here, and he enjoyed having visitors at his home. Cuco was a great cook on the grill, he also enjoyed eating, dancing, fishing and walking in the Bosque. Cuco had many nieces and nephews and he really enjoyed spending time with them, always making good memories with his family.
Cuco is survived by his children Jose Fierro, Angelica Fierro (Saul Tovali) and Refugio Fierro Jr.; his siblings Cristina Fierro, Martin Fierro, Abelino Fierro, Cornelio Fierro, Emigdio Fierro, Jose Fierro, Adela Fierro, Anamaria Fierro, Julio Fierro and Jose Antonio Fierro and his grandchild Victor Tovali.
Cuco is preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Onesima Fierro, siblings Celia Fierro and Angelica Fierro.
Pallbearers are Jose Fierro, Refugio Fierro Jr., Tomas, Ismael Quintana, Martin Fierro Jr., and Jose Antonio Fierro.
Services to be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Strong Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, ABQ, NM 87106, starting with a viewing at 12:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 4:00 PM. Services will then continue Friday, March 8, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave SW, ABQ, NM 87102 with a Mass at 10:00 AM and followed by an 11:30 AM Interment at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery, 2957 Arenal Rd SW, ABQ, NM 87121.
