Ramon A Ruiz

Ramon A. Ruiz, affectionately known by many as “Mad Dog,” passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacobo and Margarita Ruiz, his brother Franco Ruiz, his sister Felicia Sanchez, and his granddaughter Jazzlyn.

Ramon is survived by his devoted wife Lori Ruiz; his son Ramon Ruiz and wife Lisa, along with their children Cristiano and Savannah; and his daughter Bianca Elwell and husband Jason, with their children Victoria, Erica, Annaise, and Angel.

Born and raised in the Barelas neighborhood, Ramon was proud of where he came from and the people he grew up with. He was funny, spoke his mind, and loved his music. If you knew Ramon, you knew he always said exactly what he was thinking and was genuine to his very last breath.

To his grandchildren, he was their Tata, a role he treasured deeply. He was a character, loved by his friends and family, and always ready to have a good time.

Ramon’s life was full of love, laughter, and music. He will be remembered as a husband, father, Tata, brother, and friend whose honesty and spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

Our family invites you to join us in celebrating Ramon’s life on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Garcia’s Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. We welcome all who loved him to come together, share memories, and honor the good times we were blessed to have with him.
