Max Silva, 80, passed away on October 22, 2026.

Born on September 10, 1946, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Max was a lifelong New Mexican who valued family, loyalty, and the relationships he built throughout his life.

He loved his family deeply and was known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need. Max truly enjoyed thoughtful chats with people from all walks of life-sharing ideas, swapping stories, and diving into meaningful conversations. His genuine interest in others made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. Best of all, he could make a whole room laugh. That sense of humor is what we'll miss most.

Max had a passion for music that spanned a broad spectrum—from Tejano and cumbia to R&B, soul, and rock and roll. When a song comes up that reminds you of him, we hope you will play it a little louder in his honor.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Jose Silva and Mary Silva.

He is survived by his four daughters, Suzeete Valverde and her husband, Freddie Valverde; Maxine Silva and her husband, Larry Martinez; Antoinette Serna and her husband, Martin Serna; and Michaela Ferrer and her husband, José Ferrer.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Angelina Silva, Anthony Valverde, Freddie Valverde, Monique Jaramillo, Sarah Sierra, Vicente Sierra, Desiree, Albert, Renee Sandoval, and Zara Ferrer.

Max’s surviving great-grandchildren include Delilah, Suzette, Adrian Perea, Mario Montoya, Johnny Jaramillo, Anthony Jaramillo, Gwen Dominguez, Cameron Dominguez, Martin, Nathaniel, Giovanni, Romeo, and Jasiah. He is also survived by his great-great-grandchildren, Romeo and Esperanza.

Max leaves behind a large and loving family spanning several generations. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the conversations remembered, and the relationships he cherished throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the opportunity to know him.
