Tapia, Lucy Chavez
Age 55, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on December 26, 1960, to the late Angel and Herlinda Chavez. Lucy loved her grandchildren and always making them smile. She worked for APD Court Services, APD Crime Stoppers and for Pacific Northwest Laboratory. She enjoying being at work, traveling with her co-workers always brought a smile to her face. Most of all seeing her kids happy was most important. She was most proud when her son became a police officer and when her daughter graduated college.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Steven Tapia; her children, Tommy Benavidez and wife, Marcia, Joyce Benavidez ; step children, Vanessa, Jazmine and Francesca Tapia; grandchildren, Kiley Benavidez and D'Anna Lopez, Angelina and Destiny Garcia, Danelea and Dominic Trujillo; sisters, Mary, Loretta, Betty, Angel, Martha as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at New Beginnings Church, 3601 Montgomery Blvd NE, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Reception will follow after Burial back at New Beginnings Church Courtyard Room. Pallbearers will be, Steven Chavez, Steven Chavez, Jr., Donald Chavez, Adrian Chavez, Elmer Coca and Tommy Benavidez.
