Age 88, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM transitioned peacefully into a new life with Jesus on Monday, November 6, 2017. Lena was born on July 19, 1929 in LaJoya, NM and lived her childhood years in Socorro and then moved to Belen as a teenager. She married Leonardo "Leo" Sanchez and moved to Valencia, NM. Lena was a very loving and protective mom and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandson, Dexter who brought a lot of joy and smiles to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Sanchez; parents, Tomasina Peralta, Andres Peralta and her brothers, Alex and Deme Peralta.
Lena is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Brenda Lee Sanchez; granddaughters, Abigail "Abby" Walraven (Bjorn), Stephanie Walraven (Doug); great grandchild, Dexter Walraven; brother, Willie Peralta (Nellie) of Albuquerque, NM and Ray Peralta of Barstow, CA and many nieces, nephews and friends. You will be missed we love you!
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 7:00 pm, at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, Located on 8th Street and Iron. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 10:00 am at Valencia County Cemetery.
