Juan Manuel Acosta

Juan Manuel Acosta Renteria, 65, has passed away on January 22, 2024. Juan was born on April 30, 1958, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua MX to Benito Acosta and Paula Acosta Renteria. On April 2, 1979, he moved to Albuquerque. 

He is survived by the mother of his children Maria Leticia Acosta; his children Judith Darlene and John Daniel Acosta; and his partner Veronica. 

Juan was skilled in many trades and possessed many talents but that doesn’t capture his true spirit and essence. Juan was humble, funny, sweet, attentive, smart and was always the best to be around because he brought peace and joy with his sole presence and personality. One of his first jobs was working as a brick layer. Later he started learning many trades which also included construction and as an electrician. He was a handy man and jack of all trades. He was also a mechanic. He knew how to do so many things and if he didn’t know something he’d do his best to learn and try to fix things or do his best to improvise. 

Juan became a foreman and supervisor during his construction career in J.R. Hale. In the last years of his life, Juan started driving vehicles transporting people from New Mexico to the border of Mexico/Texas. When Juan wasn’t driving, people would ask for him. 

Out of all of the jobs Juan had, we can say that there was one that stood out the most; and that was his “job” as a father. His children can testify that Juan was the most amazing dad because he was always there for his children. Juan is preceded in death by his parents Benito and Paula Acosta; siblings Jose Luis Acosta, Roberto Benito Acosta; three infant siblings, and his beautiful niece Yatzel Acosta. 

Juan’s services will be held Thursday February 8, 2024; 1:00 PM at Strong Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE and February 9, 2024; 10:30 AM at San Jose Parrish, 2401 Broadway Blvd SE followed by his burial; 12:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE.
