Age 70, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019. She was born in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico on August 20, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Severo Renteria Saldana and Maria de Jesus Hernandez Medina; husband, Francisco Contreras Carrasco; grandchildren, Jordan Phillip Contreras, Ashley Contreras; siblings, Delfina Sanchez Renteria, Severo Renteria, Jesus Renteria and Victor Renteria.

Josefina is survived by her children, Oscar Contreras, Francisco Contreras (Lucero), Rick Contreras, Raul Contreras (Patricia), Gabriel Contreras, Diana Gonzales (Peter), Mary Contreras and Grace Contreras; siblings, Gregoria Benitez, Ricardo and Julieta Renteria, Refujio Maldonado, Martha Colon and Guadalupe Banda; 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A Viewing will take place on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 8:00 - 8:30 with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 and a Mass to follow at 9:00 am, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW. Interment to follow at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery, Socorro.

Pallbearers will be Peter James Gonzales, Charles Contreras, Francisco Contreras, John Brannan, Rick Contreras Jr., Oscar Contreras Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Contreras, William Brannan, Jakob Gonzales, Michael Contreras and Oscar Contreras Sr.
