John A. Garcia, 91, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully Monday 6 April 2015. He was born in the town of Carnuel on July 12, 1923. John Garcia served in the Philippines with the U.S. Navy during WWII and had a long distinguished career with Sandia National Labs before he retired from federal service in 1970. He was known for his strength and commitment to his faith and his love and devotion to his family.  He loved his coffee, enjoyed the daily newspaper and listening to his Spanish music.
He is survived by one son, Leslie Garcia; three daughters, Judy Griego and husband, David, Emerald Rivera and husband, Adrian, Norene Garcia and husband, Theodore; six grandchildren, Delia Aragon, Bernadette Garcia, Esperanza Garcia, Javier Pena, Elisa Garcia and Mariah Griego, and three great grandchildren, Marisa Aragon, Dominic Aragon and Estrella Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Eligia Garcia; wife Delia Brionez-Garcia and two daughters Bernadette and Renetta Garcia; son, Johnny Jr., Garcia and step son Richard Brionez.
Rosary will be recited on April 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Parrish in Carnuel. Interment to follow at Canon de Carnuel cemetery.
