Jesus Ruben Parra

Jesus Ruben Parra, age 69, of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2026.

Jesus was born on June 25, 1956, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Leopoldo Parra and Rosa Sandoval-Parra. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Francisco Parra.

At the age of 16, Jesus immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity and a better future. Through hard work, determination, and perseverance, he built a life for himself and his family and proudly became a citizen of the United States.

Jesus began his career working in agriculture and farming before discovering his true calling in construction. A skilled carpenter, he spent much of his life helping build homes and apartment communities throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. He took immense pride in his work, and his craftsmanship can still be seen in many of the structures he helped create. Through his dedication and talent, he left a lasting mark on the community he called home.

Known for his outgoing personality and kind spirit, Jesus never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting with friends, making his rounds around town, and catching up with those he cared about. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply stopping by to say hello, he formed meaningful and lasting friendships wherever he went.

One of Jesus’s favorite pastimes was visiting local flea markets. While he enjoyed discovering unique treasures, what he loved most was the opportunity to socialize, negotiate deals, and connect with people. He had a gift for bargaining and was always on the lookout for the next good find. He also had a lifelong passion for buying, selling, and trading vehicles, a hobby that brought him much joy over the years.

Above all else, Jesus deeply loved his family. Though life sometimes took different paths, he remained a devoted and supportive father who stayed actively involved in the lives of his children. His sons always knew they could count on him for guidance, encouragement, and unconditional support.

Jesus is survived by his sons, Jason Armijo and wife, Fatima Armijo; Ruben Parra and wife, Vanessa Parra; and Rigo Parra; his grandsons, Josue Armijo, Nicholas Toler, and Luke Parra; his brothers, Reyes Parra, Jaime Parra, Ricardo Parra, and Hector Parra; and his sisters, Olga Parra, Armida Parra, Rosa Parra, and Blanca Parra. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A man of strong Catholic faith, Jesus believed deeply in the importance of family, friendship, hard work, and helping others. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Parra, Jason Armijo, Nicholas Toler, Brenda Gurule, Eddie Calderon, and Jaime Parra.

A Rosary Service led by a Deacon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Avenue SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102.

Jesús Rubén Parra, de 69 años, de Los Lunas, Nuevo México, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el 13 de mayo de 2026.

Jesús nació el 25 de junio de 1956 en Chihuahua, México, hijo de Leopoldo Parra y Rosa Sandoval-Parra. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y su hermano, Francisco Parra.

A la edad de 16 años, Jesús emigró a los Estados Unidos en busca de oportunidades y un futuro mejor. A través del trabajo arduo, la perseverancia y la determinación, construyó una vida para sí mismo y su familia, y con orgullo se convirtió en ciudadano de los Estados Unidos.

Jesús comenzó su carrera trabajando en la agricultura antes de encontrar su verdadera vocación en la construcción. Como carpintero experto, dedicó gran parte de su vida a ayudar en la construcción de viviendas y complejos de apartamentos en Albuquerque y las áreas circundantes. Se sentía profundamente orgulloso de su trabajo, y su dedicación y artesanía aún pueden apreciarse en muchas de las estructuras que ayudó a construir.

Conocido por su personalidad extrovertida y su carácter amigable, Jesús nunca conoció a un extraño. Disfrutaba visitar a sus amistades, hacer sus rondas por la ciudad y ponerse al día con las personas que apreciaba. Ya fuera compartiendo historias, brindando una mano amiga o simplemente pasando a saludar, formó amistades sinceras y duraderas dondequiera que iba.

Uno de los pasatiempos favoritos de Jesús era visitar los mercados de pulgas locales. Aunque disfrutaba encontrar tesoros únicos, lo que más le gustaba era la oportunidad de convivir, negociar y conectar con las personas. Tenía un gran talento para negociar y siempre estaba en busca de una buena oportunidad. También tuvo una pasión de toda la vida por comprar, vender e intercambiar vehículos, una afición que le brindó gran alegría a lo largo de los años.

Por encima de todo, Jesús amaba profundamente a su familia. Aunque la vida tomó distintos caminos con el paso de los años, siguió siendo un padre devoto y solidario, involucrado activamente en la vida de sus hijos. Sus hijos siempre supieron que podían contar con él para recibir apoyo, orientación y palabras de aliento.

A Jesús le sobreviven sus hijos: Jason Armijo y su esposa, Fátima Armijo; Rubén Parra y su esposa, Vanessa Parra; y Rigo Parra; sus nietos, Josue Armijo, Nicholas Toler y Luke Parra; sus hermanos, Reyes Parra, Jaime Parra, Ricardo Parra y Héctor Parra; y sus hermanas, Olga Parra, Armida Parra, Rosa Parra y Blanca Parra. También deja atrás a numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares extendidos y muchos amigos queridos que lo extrañarán profundamente.

Hombre de profunda fe católica, Jesús creía firmemente en la importancia de la familia, la amistad, el trabajo duro y el ayudar a los demás. Su memoria vivirá para siempre a través de las muchas vidas que tocó y de la familia que tanto amó.

Los portadores del féretro serán Rubén Parra, Jason Armijo, Nicholas Toler, Brenda Gurule, Eddie Calderón y Jaime Parra.

El Servicio de Rosario, dirigido por un Diácono, se llevará a cabo a las 11:00 a.m. el lunes 8 de junio de 2026, en Garcia Mortuary, ubicada en 717 Stover Avenue SW, Albuquerque, Nuevo México 87102. El sepelio se llevará a cabo inmediatamente después en el Cementerio Mount Calvary, ubicado en 1900 Edith Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, Nuevo México 87102.

La familia Parra extiende su más sincero agradecimiento a todos quienes han ofrecido oraciones, apoyo y condolencias durante este difícil momento.
