Helen L. Lopez passed away suddenly from a short illness on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the arms of her loving family. Helen was born on December 31, 1952. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Helen retired from the City of Albuquerque, Housing Division. She was known as smart, funny and quick-witted. She was always quick with the wisecracks. Helen loved entertaining friends and family with her comedy, once performing in a stand-up comedy show. She was a woman of strong convictions, most recently participating in a No Kings Rally.

She is survived by her brothers: Robert and Priscilla Lopez, Leonard and Thuy Cao, Sister in-law Alexandria Lopez (Joe), Fabian Lopez, Jesse Lopez, Alex and Letitia Lopez, John and Laura Lee Lopez, aunts Frances and Lawrence Vargas and Bernadette and Jim Ramsey, many nieces and nephews and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ernestina Lopez, sister Pauline Armijo, brother Joe Lopez and nephews Anthony Lopez, Mark Armijo and James Lopez.
