Zamora, Eleno

Age 84, was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was born on February 2, 1934 in Manzano, New Mexico to Santiago and Carmelita Zamora.

Eleno was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Josephine Vigil-Zamora; his parents, Santiago and Carmelita Zamora; his loving sisters, Lala DeLaO, Christella Valleo.

Eleno is survived by his seven children, Elena Zamora, James Zamora and wife Corina, Edwina Zamora, Julian Zamora, Estelle Zamora, Jerry Zamora and wife Laura, Elizabeth Otero and husband Rick; 14 grandchildren; his sisters, Francis Padilla, Cecilia Bachicha and husband Fred, Candie Herrera, Josephine Padilla and husband J. M.

Eleno loved sports, particularly basketball, he frequented the North Valley Senior Citizen's Center where he enjoyed socializing over meals and shooting billiards. Eleno was well known in the restaurant industry in Albuquerque and surrounding area where he made his career as a meat salesman. He was a parishioner at San Felipe de Neri parish where he ushered mass and attended church for decades. Eleno was a no-nonsense man with a fighting spirit which was key in his long battle with the Parkinson's, the disease that would eventually overtake him. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, Located on 8th Street and Iron, followed by a Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 10:00 am at San Jose de los Duranes Catholic Church, 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park following service.
