Age 85, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was born in Wheatland, WY on August 26, 1936. Efrien was a devoted husband of 30 years to his wife, Mercy, a beloved father, stepfather, uncle and brother. Efrien wore many hats for his family and wore them to the fullest ability. He was a very loving, patient and caring man. Efrien was very much loved by his family, especially his grandchildren. He gave a very loving fatherly figure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Ramona Chavez.
Efrien is survived by his wife, Mercy Chavez; children, Efrien Dennis Chavez, Chris Alonzo, Allen Alonzo, Alex Zavala; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE.
