On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Dennis Chavez passed away at the age of 81 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Sabinal, NM on November 1, 1939 to his parents, Higinio Chavez and Celestina Armijo. On August 23, 1958 Dennis married Virginia Sena whom he was married to for 62 beautiful years.
At age 17 Dennis joined the U.S. Airforce, proudly serving for 20 years; including two tours in Vietnam. During that time, he and his family traveled the world. After retiring from the military, Dennis worked for and retired from the postal service. Throughout Dennis’s lifetime, together with Virginia, they raised their family and have touched countless lives in every community in which they have lived.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Chavez, their six children, Robert, Loretta, Leonard, Michael, Denise, Rosanne and their spouses, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
