Charles “Chuck” Valdez, beloved Army veteran and retired firefighter, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on May 03, 2024.

Chuck was selfless and would give his shirt off his back, even to strangers. He would go out of his way to help anyone, starting in the Barelas community giving food and milk to the kids in the streets to coaching and mentoring in Little League and boxing. Chuck will be remembered by his sense of humor, witty comebacks and genorisity. Despite being sent to an orphanage at a young age he believed in God and made a successful life for himself and supported his beloved family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Juanita Valdez, and their cherished children Raymond (Wife: Mona) Bernadette, and Robert Fuentes (Cj and Rodgene). He leaves behind a legacy of love and service, fondly remembered by his six grandchildren: Jacqueline (Husband: Cody), Gabriel, Savannah, Jade, Dominik, and Arianna. Additionally, he is remembered by his nine great-grandchildren: Mila, Elias, Colton, Kailee, Leighton, Gianna, Amiri, JJ, Marisol and godson James Anthony “Helm” Sisneros. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
