Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 88.  She was born in Albuquerque, NM to Jose and Elisa Chavira.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Pablo Nunez; parents, Jose and Elisa Chavira; brothers, Ralph, Herman, Roy, Willie; sisters, Lucy Martinez and Mary Louise Chavira; and granddaughter Nicole V. Nunez.
Carmen is survived by children, Paul Nunez, Jr. and wife, Therese, Lisa Baca and husband, Anthony, Albert Nunez and wife, Lorraine; grandchildren, Jennifer Sanchez, Onastine T. Jaramillo, Christina Silva, Patrick Baca, Dominic Nunez, Natalie Nunez; great grandchildren, Mariah, Sierra, Julian, Aliana, Dimas, Avan and Kiera; sister Dolores Cortez and numerous relatives and friends.  Carmen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Garcia Mortuary Chapel of Angels on the corner of 8th and Iron, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave. SW at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Paul Nunez, Albert Nunez, Dominic Nunez, Patrick Baca, Anthony Baca, and Dennis Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Jaramillo and Andrew Cortez.
