Anne Candelaria Smail, 83, entered into eternal peace on January 10, 2015. Anne was born on March 10, 1931 to Valentine and Manuelita (Garcia) Candelaria in Manzano NM. She graduated from Mountainair High School in 1949 and moved to Albuquerque to attend business college. She moved to New Jersey in the mid 1950’s and returned to Albuquerque in 1959. She retired from the FAA in 1984. Anne enjoyed coin collecting, dancing and traveling, watching old Hollywood musicals and religious movies. Anne sang in the Albuquerque Civic Choir, she volunteered for UNICEF and contributed to many charitable organizations. Anne was preceded in death by parents, Valentine and Manuelita Candelaria; son, Charles Nicholas D’Angelo; siblings, Nicholas Candelaria and wife Theresa, Severra Lovato, Appalonia Romero and husband Antonio, Carlotta Lovato and husband Saturnino and Favolita Candelaria. Anne is survived by sons, Joseph Carl D’Angelo, Vincent Mark D’Angelo and wife Patricia, and David Gregory Smail; grandchildren, Jason D’Angelo and wife Jeanina, Adam D’Angelo, Juliet Labreche and husband Francis, Trisha Pillars and husband Marcus, Carlo D’Angelo, Dominica D’Angelo, Sheila VA Smail, Ronald Justin Smail; great granddaughters, Sophia and Madeline Labreche; brother Esmael “Tim” Candelaria and wife Evelyn; brother-in-law Saverio “Sam” D’Angelo. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Albuquerque NM 87102. Visitation will be Thursday January 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Garcia Mortuary, followed by Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, followed by a reception in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Association NM chapter.
