Age 96, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Ribera, NM on October 23, 1923. Charles was a WWII veteran, he fought in the Western European conflict and was awarded four bronze stars and a Normandy Medal. He always provided for his family even till the very last day. He enjoyed boxing, baseball and working on his vehicles. He was a firm believer in fixing most things with duct tape. He was a very intelligent man and clear minded till the end and he loved to talk as long as he was doing all the talking.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosella Tapia; two infant sons; parents, Jesus and Crucita Tapia; five brothers and four sisters.
Charles is survived by his children,Tommie Tapia, Carolyn Tapia, Maxine Harris and significant other, Elena Boone, Antoinette Young and husband, Denny, Lawrence Romero and wife, Jacqueline, Mary and Paul Romero; nine grandchildren; siblings, Connie Armijo, Margie Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, with a Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am.
